Jamie Oliver Troughton (born 2 March 1979) is an English cricketer. He is mainly an attack-minded left-handed batsman but also an occasional slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He plays for and captains the county side Warwickshire and has played for the England One Day International team.
He has played six One-day Internationals for England at time of writing, scoring 36 runs at an average of nine. He is a hard-hitting batsman with a good range of shots. He averages a respectable 40 plus in the four day county game.
He won the NBC Denis Compton Award in 2002. He is the son of noted Shakespearean actor David Troughton. His grandfather, Patrick Troughton, starred as the Doctor in the science fiction series Doctor Who in the 1960s. He is also the younger brother of Robin Hood actor Sam Troughton and the cousin of actor Harry Melling from the Harry Potter films.
He was named Warwickshire captain for the 2011 season in November 2010.[1]
